Furyk's Rainy Payday

Known to be the most "gritty" player in the PGA field, perhaps no one deserves this prestigious victory more than Jim Furyk. It ended up being a double payday for the winner of the championship, as his win at East Lake solidified his first ever win at the Tour Championships, but also allowed him to clinch the top spot among the players vying for the Fed-Ex Cup title. By winning the Tour Championship he earned 1.35 million dollars paired with an additional bonus of $10 million dollars for landing at the top spot in the Fed-Ex Cup. The normally controlled and contained Furyk sunk his par putt on the par 4 18th green and exploded into a state of unusually high emotion, which until now had really never been seen in the player. "It just hit me," said Furyk, "I was excited and dropped the putter and.. I don't know. I guess at that moment, you're really not responsible for what happens next." This victory was not a walk in the park by any means for Jim, both the wet conditions and the field of players were beating down on Furyk's back. Luke Donald, Reteif Goosen, and Paul Casey helped closed out the head of the field, and Furyk's final round 70 edged second place Donald by only one stroke. The excitement at this event was at an all time high due to the new make-up of the Fed-Ex cup, with so much movement on the leaderboard, the champion was truly an unknown until the very last hole of play. With Furyk's win he joins the likes of Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh as the players listed on the Fed-Ex cup. Thus highlighting the prestige and quality of play that is required to win the culminating title of a busy year of the golf season's tours and events. The tournament was filled with incredible shots which are shown in the video to follow, but for Furyk, this crowning achievement must be short lived, with the Ryder Cup only a few shorts days away, he has already been asked to join his fellow American's as they prepare and train for the most exciting event in golf. Only the next time around, they play for pride and nation, no money involved.

  1. Well i dont know much about golf. From what it looks like you have a good feel for the event itself and most definitely for the participants. The only players I know are Tiger Woods (of course) and Arnold Palmer.

I think that the money golfers get paid is crazy, I'm sure that they don't mind winning especially the player you mentioned who won two cups at the same time. I'm considering the sport the more you talk about it to be honest with you.

  2. The blog is very golf themed, what with the background, and scrolling through, all the pictures of golfers. This is good. From the looks of it, your posts are really informative on the topic, and bring in recent news. I'm not interested in golf myself, but I know that it would be a really entertaining read to someone who is.

The only errors I can see are some formatting ones. The font should be consistent throughout, but you have different sizes around your blog, which makes it look less organized. Also, try splitting up your posts into little paragraphs, instead of just posting one wall of text. These things would improve upon your blog's overall look!
